ABOUT US
The Agency for Audiovisual Media Services (AMU) is an independent regulatory body for the field of audiovisual media services, exercising public authority in accordance with the Law on Audiovisual Media Services and acting in the public interest. Although it performs public duties, the Agency is functionally independent from state bodies, public administration, and local self-government, as well as from all individuals and legal entities engaged in providing audiovisual media services.
The founder of the Agency is the State, and the rights of the founder on behalf of the State are exercised by the Agency Council, in accordance with the law.
The Agency performs its competencies impartially and transparently, with the aim of ensuring freedom of expression, media pluralism, cultural and linguistic diversity, consumer protection, accessibility of content, non-discrimination, proper functioning of the internal market, and promotion of competition.
The governing bodies of the Agency are the Council and the Director.
